Practitioner Experience and Training

All our practitioners are experienced therapists before they even begin to study the specific Ageing Unplugged programme and so they have abundant skills to help you get the best out of it. Any one of them will be happy to have a chat with you by phone, by Skype, or in person to advise you of their availability and what they can do for you.

They all have plenty of therapy experience, some specialising in certain areas such as pain management, anxiety, depression or other issues and these will show on their profiles on this site. Most will be able to work with you via Skype if you’re not able to visit them in person – and it’s possible that some might come to you, either at home or your place of work. This is very much up to the individual practitioner, as is their scale of fees.

If you don’t see a practitioner in your area, more will be joining soon – Ageing Unplugged was launched in 2018 and the training programme is ongoing.

Biography

Photo of Charles Whitaker

Charles grew up in the Lake District which probably explains his love of wilderness and wide open spaces. Graduating from Umist with a Ph. D., the next 30 or so years were spent in manufacturing in a variety of locations in leadership roles. Over those years he was the architect of many successes delivering key points of differentiation for the business. In parallel to this he became interested in complimentary approaches to health and eventually in parallel with his regular job in 2004 he started training in clinical hypnotherapy. In 2008 he started training with Barbara Brennan, graduating in 2012 and in parallel to this he spent 3 years training to become a shamanic practitioner.

Following his years in business he set up his own practice as a personal change agent deploying the skills he continues to learn and integrate into his “coaching” practice. He believes deeply that people can achieve for more than they normally expect and that we can tap into this potential, often unrecognised, with appropriate guidance.

He has a busy practice facilitating change for individuals often with a business background who are looking to live a fuller life.
